so some great news to share I am officially Promotions and marketing manager for the Sydney Intercultural Film Festival held in sydney in November. Exciting stuff and keeping me super busy. So I will do my best to post updates etc.

So after 3 cups of Latte and god knows how many oreos, i have 5 pages of my screenplay finished. 

If only it ended there. 

 

But there is still so much more dialog to complete (atleast another 5 pages), story board, outlines, scene and camera views. scheduling.. then I have to find costumes, make up artist and not to mention the cast. 

 

Who ever knew it would be so hard? Well I did know it would be difficult and I am just a whining baby complaining about something i so apparently love, but you know .. cookies.. 

 

Just a short post to give you some ideas about screenplays and film production: 

 

• - if you are going to do this, then its crucial to set some time aside, away from facebook and the world and world of warcraft and settle your mind . 
• I personally practise the bodhran drum to settle myself. geeky I know but I really do enjoy it. 
• second, imagine it. Its crucial to imagine each scene as it happens. Because if you cant imagine it then your going to have a hard time trying to explain exactly what you want to your camera peeps, directors, cast what have you. 
• The out line is your best friend. Figure out where you are starting from and where you need to go. Now if you are doing a short film like myself, then this may be the point you want to chop up some scenes that are not crucial to the story line.
• Stuck for ideas? then refer to your outline and story board. Sometimes it helps to have a visual infront of you to inspire you with more dialog. 
• Still stuck? then imagine your characters infront of you or imagine one of your friends is your character, what would they say in that situation. 
• Still stuck? then I have found that tweeting has helped. Yes believe it or not but there are a gazillion writers on twitter and most are happy to chat with you and help inspire you, which is pretty damn super!!
• once you have written it out, pass it on to a few friends and the people you are closely working with, and let them have a read. They may have suggestions and edits to improve it. 
• Once you have your finished screen play then it is time to get juicy and look over all the scenes.. are they doable? are they essential? Do they aid the story or do they take you along the forbidden path to wasteland? 
• Then its time to sit with your director, producer etc and discuss what you are going to need.. This list is going to get long and overwhelming. But "hold on to your love, you gots to hold on". 
• and this is where the fun starts, trying to find all the equipment, props, costumes, cast, locations, make up artist, hair stylist, etc etc and fit it all in your budget. get your 007 music ready. 

Well this is where I am up to. Trying to get all this ready with next to sero budget. Can I get a Hell Yeah!!! 

I shall update you as time goes on.. fingers crossed.. i am positive this list will grow as time goes on. 

k died for a moment there

So i Just saw Oz Comic Con and found out Cary Elwes will be there.

I immediately turned into a little girl, spun around like a million times then collapse of heart failure..

MY love for this man can not even be expressed into words.

He is the epitome of all that is awesome, amazing, phenomenal, romantic and comical all in one bundle of a human being.

so i just had to share my love for this man and my moment of OMG he will be here.

 Ps if you do not know who Cary Elwes is - then .........................................dont talk to me ... lol 

Princess and the bride comes to mind, Robin hood men in tights, Saw movies, Glory, No strings attached  etc etc

crazy weekend @supanovaexpo

Ok so my weekend has been rather insane and mega. But i made it through.

We went to the Supanova Expo to cover the amazing expo, all the artists, exhibits, celebs and you guys. We have plenty of photos to go through and even more footage. Kinda insane really all the editing that is involved. Did some amazing interviews with Clare Kramer, Manu Intiraymi, Lauren Tom, Eve Myles, Kai Owens etc

So it was most defo a crazy weekend.

But here is the thing, some of you may know i am a Mother.. yep .. And I promised my daughter she can have a photo with the phelps twins.

Well, i got busy with interview, forgot i had kids n my poor girl was stuck downstairs as she could not come up to the media room.

2 hours later.. yes I know .. how bad am I??? i realized what I had done, rushed downstairs, but the Phelps were gone and she never got her photo. So I am officially the worst mother in the world right now.

So fingers crossed I can make it up to her. Arghhh my life.
